What We Believe

Let's start with the truth that is inescapable in Christianity but unavoidably far-fetched to many in the world today : the existence of the supernatural. Christianity is founded on the knowledge of an eternal, all powerful God who cannot be examined under a microscope, or tested by the limits of scientific knowledge. Furthermore Christianity assumes that this God created everything in the universe (Genesis chapters 1 & 2) and because He is Creator then He alone is free to miraculously intervene in the natural order. This is something we see in the likes of sending a worldwide flood (Genesis 7 - 8), creating a dry pathway through rivers (Exodus 14, Joshua 3).

We believe and teach the Bible and as such have no problem with mystery food falling from the sky (Exodus 16), or a day lasting longer than 24 hours (Joshua 10) or Jesus walking upon the water (Matthew 14).

We have no problem with our supernatural God performing miracles today.

Miracles are indispensable in Christianity, and without the miracle of miracles - the resurrection - there would be no Christian faith. (1 Corinthians 15)

In addition to the small sample above, we believe that the Bible clearly teaches that God taught His people how to walk with Him. His people were expected to use their mouths in worship, hands in service and lives as witnesses to the surrounding nations. He was their God, they were His people, and He expected them to live like it.

In view of the above, our statement of faith isn't meant to be dry words, but rather read in conjunction with the ministries that we do, becoming an outworking of what we say we believe and as a witness to the local community.

Therefore, we believe in…

  • The one true God who lives eternally in three persons—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

  • The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.

  • The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God—fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.

  • The dignity of all people, made male and female in God's image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement.

  • The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ—born of the Virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.

  • The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.

  • The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world.

  • The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.

  • The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.

  • The church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers — given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit’s gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.

The body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers—given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit's gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.

  • The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at the Church Building (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:00 am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you will be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access into the building, and a stairlift for anyone who requires as the church meeting is held on the 1st floor.  Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. The disabled toilet is in the main foyer on the ground floor.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10:00 am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of sung worship. We typically have 3 songs lasting approximately 20 minutes. Sometimes a person might pray out loud or read a small passage from the bible.  We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church. There will be a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We then finish with a time of worship, followed by tea or coffee and a time of fellowship.
There is always opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service should you require.
Further information can be found on our "About us" page.

What about my kids?

We have a great programme lined up for kids of all ages:

  • Seedlings (3-8 years)

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome, songs and notices. We really value worshipping God all together as a family. At the end of the notices someone will announce that it’s time for the younger members to go to their various groups.

The kids group activities vary depending on the age but usually there is a friendly welcome, bible stories, testimonies, praying, music, craft, drama, fun games and free play.

Getting Connected

Small Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings. Check out Small Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.

Serving and Volunteering

If you want to get involved in the life of the church and help us make Sundays run smoothly, please speak with one of the leaders.
There may be further opportunities available in foodbank, furniture project and charity shop.
